Calvin R. Carr

Calvin R. Carr, 90, formerly of 1502 Blockville- Watts Flats Road, Ashville, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at Warren Manor.

He was born April 27, 1930, in Jamestown, the son of the late Ray David and Lillian Barth Carr, and was a graduate of James-town High School.

Cal had most recently been employed as an environmental engineer and consultant by Dahlstrom Manufacturing and previously as an engineer by Malleable Iron and the Blackstone Corporation.

He was a member of Panama United Methodist Church. Cal was also past master of the Carroll Lodge 1147 F & AM.

He enjoyed motorcycle riding, playing guitar and building and flying model airplanes.

Surviving are his children: David Carr of James-town, N.Y., Lorraine Roberge of Atlanta, Ga., and Kathleen (Kurt) Possai of Coleraine, Minn.; step-children: Martin (Anita) Juul of Manassas, Va., and Kevin (Beth) Juul of Frewsburg, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; as well as Cal’s good friend, Eloise Smith of Panama, N.Y.

Besides his parents, Cal was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Stevens Carr, whom he married July 2, 1962, and who died Au-gust 9, 2010; and his step-son, Gregory (Connie) Juul of Frewsburg, N.Y.

A private graveside committal will take place in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
