Karen A. Schwartz

Born Oct. 4, 1959, in Jamestown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Barbara F. Fuller Schwartz.

She had been employed as a manager of the Silver Fox in Ellicottville, N.Y., for over 15 years. She also had been employed at the Ellicottville Brewing Company, Ellicottville, N.Y. She started her restaurant career at the Italian Fisherman in Bemus Point, N.Y.

Karen enjoyed keeping in touch with family. She was a people person who enjoyed meeting new acquaintances. She also enjoyed her home, especially her flower garden, and was an avid sailor, growing up on Chautauqua Lake where she raced as well as on Lake Erie. She sailed the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean with her late father.

Surviving are two brothers: Kurt A. Schwartz, Bemus Point, N.Y., and Karl (Lisa) Schwartz, Ellicottville, N.Y.; two nieces: Jessica (Travis) Wallace, Great Valley, N.Y., and Julia (Ryan) Dunn, Washington State; a nephew, Samuel Schwartz, Ellicottville, N.Y.; four great–nieces: Nora and Emma Wallace, both of Great Valley, N.Y., and Mia and Zoey Dunn, both of Washington State; two great–nephews, Grant Wallace, Great Valley, N.Y., and James Dunn, Washington State; and two cousins: Pamela Bajorek, Charlotte, N.C., and Richard Schwartz, Tennessee.

She was predeceased by a great-niece, Amelia Wallace.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, NY.
