June K. Reeves

June K. Reeves, 80, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa.

She was born Aug. 13, 1939, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of the late John D. “Jack” and Madeline A. Parker Crimmins.

She was employed by WCA Hospital as a licensed practical nurse and med nurse retiring in 1987. She had great compassion for her patients.

June served as Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher for Zion Tabernacle Church for almost 60 years. She also served as Vacation Bible School director that reached attendance of 199 students. With the help of her dear friend, Helen Lee and others they decorated the churches Sunday school rooms, downstairs auditorium and upstairs sanctuary for the children at vacation bible school.

She enjoyed studying Bible scriptures and memorized many she could quote and did many times over. June developed and taught to the women of the church Bible studies that were encouraging and very spiritually uplifting.

In earlier years, June and her five children sang in her home church Zion Tabernacle and in revival meetings in Pennsylvania and New York. There singing group helped bring numerous attendees to Christ.

June was a loving and compassionate pastors wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and nurse.

Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Robert E. Reeves, whom she married Oct. 10, 1957 ,in Haltom, Texas; four children: the Rev. Robert D. (Sue) Reeves of Rochester, N.Y., Michael R. (Tammy) Reeves of Jamestown, Deborah (Samuel) Nataros of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Shawn (Richard) Cicchini of Bemus Point; a son-in-law, Marvin Gene Canada of Jamestown; 11 grandchildren: Brett Peterson, (whom was raised by June and Robert), Rachael C. Kovalcik, Nathan R. Reeves, Cassandra Rae Kamrey, Amy Reeves Ralston (Micah), Michael D. Reeves, Mark Nataros, Joshua Nataros, James Canada, Amanda Canada and Justin Cicchini; nine great grandchildren; a nephew, Tim (Lori) Crimmins; and a cousin, Malcolm Allen.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelli Canada; two brothers: Robert and Dennis Crimmins; and a niece, Tammy Crimmins.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert D. Reeves, June’s son will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 restrictions 25 percent of funeral home capacity will be able to attend.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
