James E. “Jim” Scofield
FORESTVILLE — James E. “Jim” Scofield, 71, of Dye Road, Forestville, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020, at the Dunkirk Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Dunkirk, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Buffalo, on May 8, 1949, the son of the late Edwin A. and Rosemary (Fix) Scofield.
James was a graduate of Lancaster High School and was a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving as a medic during the Vietnam War. He worked as a filter operator for the Erie County Water Authority in Sturgeon Point, for 25 years, retiring in June 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa (Monin) Scofield of Forestville, whom he married on Sept. 20, 1976, in the Town of Villenova; and two sisters: Linda Sturm of Cowlesville, and Margaret Dauman, of Dennison, Texas.
Private funeral services will be held with military honors from Riles & Woolley Funeral Home in Forestville, with the Rev. James Witherington Jr., Hospice chaplain, officiating.
