James H. Belluz

James H. Belluz, 68, of 347 Howard Ave., WE, Jamestown, died Monday, March 23, at Corry Manor.

He was born Jan. 8, 1952, in Syracuse, N.Y., son of the late Primo and Faye Hilton Belluz.

He was a high school graduate, class of 1971 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation. He served from 1971-75 obtaining the rank of sargeant and received numerous commendations.

One of Jim’s hobbies since he was a teenager, was being a Ham radio operator. He enjoyed telling stories of all the people he connected with all over the world. After the Marine Corps, Jim recognized the need for male nurses and pursued his nursing degree at Jamestown Community Colleg which lead to his career in travel nursing for many years. He was able to travel to many states throughout the United States and especially enjoyed Alaska and Hawaii.

Jim’s survivors include his son, Brian Belluz of Boone, N.C.; sisters: Laurie Shay (Dan) of Busti and Gina Belluz of Sebring, Fla.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie in 1971; and his son, Justin in 2002.

Per Jim’s wishes, his body has been donated to the UB Anatomical Gift Program.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In addition to Jim’s loyal friends, the family would like to thank Hospice and the staff at Corry Manor for their compassionate love and support during Jim’s illness.
