Syble G. Tenpas

Syble G. Tenpas passed from this life to the next on Jan. 29, 2020, in the presence of her family. She was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Stedman, N.Y., the daughter of Kenneth and Harriet Green.

She attended Chautauqua Central School. At the end of World War II, she met Harold Tenpas who was home from serving in the U.S. Navy. They were married in 1947, and moved to a dairy farm on Clymer Hill which they operated until their retirement. Syble was dedicated to her family and to Clymer Hill Reformed Church.

She is survived by her children: Steven (Jane) Tenpas, Stanley (Kathleen) Tenpas, Gail (Don) Borst, and Bruce (Tammy) Tenpas, all of the Clymer area; grandchildren: Julia Heiser, Melissa Ranney, Stephanie Redlecki, Karri Reichmuth, Kelley Vindas, Emily Henry, Jennifer Lamb, David Tenpas, Bryan Tenpas and Katelyn Tenpas; 17 greatgrandchildren, one great- great-granddaughter; and her sister-in-law, Lou Johnson.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, who died in January of 2003; a son, Richard; a brother, Roger Green; two sisters: Virginia Ellsworth and Marian Tenpas; and a grandson-in-law, Adam Murphy.

Family and friends may call at the Clymer Hill Reformed Church, 8441 Ravlin Hill Road, Clymer, N.Y., on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Gordon Damsteegt will officiate.

Burial will be in Holland Cemetery, Clymer, NY.

It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Clymer Hill Reform Church or Clymer Fire Department, 8756 W. Main St., Clymer, NY 14724.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, PA 16407.
