Ruth F. Bushnell

She was born on March 19, 1930, in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Rouse) Fox. On July 18, 1948, she married Richard Bushnel,l who predeceased her on Dec. 21, 2019.

Mrs. Bushnell worked at her family-owned Fox Motors in Gowanda for many years. She was a member of the Home Bureau as well as the United Methodist Church in Gowanda, where she had taught Sunday school. Mrs. Bushnell also enjoyed playing cards, reading, and her many fishing trips. She and her husband also had a summer home at Chautauqua Lake.

Mrs. Bushnell is survived by a daughter, Patti (Rusty) Pound of Gowanda, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Kate Bushnell of Hamburg, N.Y.; four grand children: Brian (Sara) Pound, Scott (Tracy) Pound, Daniel Bushnell and Karen (John) Bushnell-Willet; as well as nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and loving husband, she is predeceased by a son, William “Bill” Bushnell.

Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E. Main St., Gowanda on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at 1 p.m., from the funeral home with the Rev. James Rugg, officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Gowanda Memorial Library or the Gowanda United Methodist Church.
