Roger L. Coan

Roger L. Coan, 76, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 at UPMC Chautauqua.

He was the husband of Kerry L. Ecklof Coan, whom he married May 9, 1987.

Roger was born in Jamestown on July 1, 1943, and was the son of the late David H. and Mable A. Shelters Coan. Prior to retirement, he was a 49 1/2 year employee of SKF.

He was a member of the War Vets Recreation, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and always looked forward to his Burger King Coffee Club with fellow retirees.

Along with his wife, Kerry, surviving are four children: Roger D. (Krissi) Coan of Indiana, Heidi (David) Bane of Jamestown, Kaitlin (Josh) Kell of Lakewood and Melissa (Bernard) Bertran of Mississippi; and grandchildren: Caleb and Carsen Bane.

Also surviving are his siblings: Ronald (Jackie) Coan of North Carolina, and Jody Triscari and Tammy (Tony) Melice, both of Jamestown; brothers-in- law: David Ecklof and Eric Ecklof, both of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law, Carl and Donna Ecklof.

Roger’s family wishes to express their many thanks to Dr. Vejendla and his office staff, as well as the dialysis unit and everyone at UPMC Chautauqua for taking great care of Roger during his stays.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Witherington officiating.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
