Marilyn Sue Weissinger

Marilyn Sue Weissinger, 78, of Youngsville, Pa., went to her heavenly home on Jan. 21, 2020, surrounded by her family, following a long-term illness while at the Rouse-Warren County Home.

She was born March 16, 1941, in Meadville, Pa., to the late Walter and Marian Jones.

Marilyn was an active member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Pittsfield, Pa., for many years and was known for her gift of intercessory prayer. She shared a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ with her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed nature, bird watching, reading and singing. She also spent many hours crocheting, sewing and crafting gifts for family and friends. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her husband and family. Some of her favorite moments were laughing with her sisters, making memories with her grand and great-grandchildren and playing with her dog, Baxter.

She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 55 years, Darrell Weissinger, and their devoted dog, Baxter of Youngsville, Pa.; four children: Michael (Sheila) Weissinger of Erie, Pa., Julie (John) Blum of Pittsfield, Pa., Charity (Christopher) Seymour of Russell, Pa., and Troy (Holly) Weissinger of Youngsville, Pa; 11 grandchildren: Jeremy Blum, Youngsville, Jamie Blum, Mooresville, N.C., Jenna (Daryl Huber) Blum, Warren, Jonna Blum, Pittsburgh, Alexis (Jayson Burnett) Weissinger, Mayville, N.Y., Mike (Christine) Weissinger, Jr., Springboro, Pa., Matt Weissinger, Erie, Kamryn Weissinger, Youngsville, Conlan Seymour, Russell; Sydney Weissinger, Youngsville; Case Seymour, Russell and Keegan Weissinger, Youngsville; four great-grandchildren: Ava Blum and Ashton Blum, Moorsesville, N.C., Ridgley Blum, Youngsville, and Hudson Burnett, Mayville, N.Y.; three sisters: Joyce (Clyde) Vandenburg, Pittsfield, Pa., Emma Jean (William) Rosenberg, Youngsville, and Mary (Fred) Lauffenburger, Youngsville; and several nephews and nieces.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, Jan. 24, from 4-8 p.m., at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St., Youngsville, PA 16371 and also from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at which time a funeral service will be held at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple St., Pittsfield, PA 16340, with the Rev. Nate Fugate and the Rev. Bruce Davis, co-officiating. A private burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
