Marcia Lee Johnson

Marcia Lee Rasmussen Johnson, 79, of Ashville died at 7 a.m. Jan. 8, 2020, at UPMC Chautauqua.

She was born March 25, 1940, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Donald Bull and Irene Rasmussen (Raymond Rasmuseen. She was a cook at the age of 15 at the Colonial, The Triangle and the Big Tree until she became a nurses aid for 30-plus years as she raised her six children.

She was the president of the Panama Ladies Fire Auxiliary and an active member of the Watts Flats United Methodist Church. She loved to bowl and spend time with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very loving, kind woman and helped people in anyway she could.

Marcia was survived by three sons: Rick Johnson (Teresa) of Ashville, Rex Johnson (Laurie) of Panama and Randy Johnson (Wendy) of North Carolina; two daughters: Raena Johnson (Randy) of Clymer and Rhonda Skelton (Ron); 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandy Thayer; a brother, Bradley Rasmussen; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, her husband, a granddaughter and a brother.

A memorial will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, at noon at the Watts Flats United Methodist Church on Blockville-Watts Flats Road in Ashville. In lieu of flows, memorials can be made to Watts Flats United Methodist Church or Koinonia Christian Fellowship Church.
