A. Virginia Samuelson

She was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Gustaf and Anna Carlson Hanson.

She was a graduate of Frewsburg High School.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the United State Postal Service as a clerk in the Frewsburg Post Office.

She was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg.

Virginia loved to travel, having visited Alaska, Hawaii and 18 countries.

Surviving are two daughters: Shirley (Duane) Munson of Orlando, Fla., and Linda (William) Smith of Marietta, Ga.; six grandchildren: Lisa Topalovich, Richard Munson, Kevin Munson, Jeff Smith, Michael Smith and Rondee Mikolajczak; 12 great- grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret White of Lakewood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Samuelson, whom she married Sept. 7, 1946, and who died Nov 10, 1953; four brothers: LaVern, Clarence, Willis and Enard Hanson; and four sisters: Eleanor Anderson, Lillian Rice, Gladys Fedirko and Delores Hanson.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 28, 2020, in Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on the day of the service and also in Fellowship Hall of the church following the service.
