Martha Ann Lewis Gibbons

WESTFIELD — Martha Ann Lewis Gibbons, 67, of Westfield, formerly of Clymer and Sherman, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pa.

She was born June 23, 1952, in Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late William Lewis Sr. and Clara Hamilton Lewis.

Martha had worked for Absolut Care of Westfield as a house keeper. In earlier years, she worked for Ethan Allen in Mayville as a housekeeper and had spent many years working in the grape vineyards in Ripley.

She had been a previous member of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Mina, where she had taught Sunday school. She enjoyed fishing, baking, cooking, hiking, decorating and celebrating the Christmas season, taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and family get togethers.

Martha is survived by her husband, Lawrence Gibbons Sr., whom she married Nov. 16, 1968, in Clymer, N.Y.; three daughters: Debbie Gibbons of Jamestown, N.Y., Brenda Gibbons of Westfield, N.Y., and Nancy Gibbons, of Westfield, N.Y.; one son, Lawerance Gibbons Jr., of Jamestown, N.Y., 11 grandchildren; Timothy Blakeslee Jr., Kelly Blakeslee, Nicole Grimm, Michelle Grimm, Arthur Ried Jr., Brittney (John) Inglesby, Robert Campbell Jr., Sarah Campbell, Amber Eichelberger, Hope Mae Gibbons and Kobe Andrew Gibbons; six great- grandchildren; two brothers: William (Nancy) Lewis of Clymer and John Lewis of Mayville; one niece, Connie Whitermore; and one nephew, John Lewis Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Glen Lewis and Ronnie Lewis.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at the Freay Funeral Home (139 S Erie St) in Mayville. The Rev. Danny Ray Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in the Mina Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for two hours (11 a.m.-1p.m.) prior to the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
