Jean L. Anderson

Jean L. Anderson, 86, formerly of Brookside Estates passed away peacefully Thursday (Dec. 26, 2019) in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong area resident, she was born Oct. 20, 1933 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Harry A. and Ethel Lawson Hall.

Jean was a graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to retirement Jean had worked at WCA Hospital and Jamestown Public Schools. She was also a caregiver for Laurabell Colburn for 17 years.

Jean adored and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and caring for them. Family was everything to her! She also enjoyed cooking and baking, taking care of her home, reading and crossword puzzles.

Surviving are five children: Kevin (Pamela) Anderson of Anderson, Ind., Kathy (Greg) Carlberg of Frewsburg, Robin (Dan) Rowicki of Jamestown, Randall (Nancy) Anderson of North East, Pa., and Amy Anderson (David Kell) of Falconer; 12 grandchildren: Michelle (Todd) Comber, Heather Carlberg, Annie (Benjamin) Haugan, Aaron (Nikki) Carlberg, Brian Gustafson, Eric (Virginia) Carlberg, Kelly Anderson, Bradley Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Gregory Anderson, Emily Anderson, Leah Anderson; 16 great- grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Paddock of Gerry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Anderson Sr., whom she married Dec, 31, 1951, and who died January 2, 1992; a son Richard D. Anderson Jr. in May 2019; two brothers: Vernon and Kenneth Hall; and two sisters: Carol Phillips and Joyce Anderson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Penhollow of Jamestown Community Chapel will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 7-9 p.m., Monday and one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday in the funeral home.
