Beatrice M. “Bea” Baker Emules

Beatrice M. “Bea” Baker Emules, 92, formerly of Lakewood, N.Y., passed away at 4:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.

An area resident for most of her life, she was born May 4, 1927, in Union City, Pa., a daughter of the late Clarence S. and Melda Prescott White.

Before her retirement, she was employed as a custodian for the Southwestern Central School System for 22 years.

She was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, and was a 34 year member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion Auxiliary. Bea also loved cooking and baking for her large family and enjoyed seeing everyone at family gatherings.

Surviving are her four children; Kathy (Joseph) Walz and Duane R. (Emily) Baker, both of Jamestown, N.Y., Karen Austin of Findley Lake, N.Y., and James Baker of Falconer, N.Y.; two stepchildren: David (Cheryl) Emules of Florida and Diane M. Hicks of Tennessee; as well as many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, step grand- children and step great- grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard W. Baker, who died Sept. 16, 1975; her second husband, Michael Emules Jr., whom she married Sept. 19, 1980 and who died Feb. 25, 2012; a stepdaughter, Susan Guard; two sisters: Pauline Larson and Audrey Emules; and a brother, Vincent White.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Cook, retired pastor of Lakewood Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Lakewood Baptist Church, 150 Erie St., Lakewood, NY 14750.
