Leonard C. Stacey

TOWN of COLDSPRING — Leonard C. Stacey, 87, of Lebanon Road, Town of Coldpring, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 19, 2019) peacefully at the Heritage Village Rehab Center in Gerry, after a long battle with Dementia.

He was born July 24, 1932, in the Town of Red House, N.Y., the son of the late Eugene and Edith (Baldwin) Stacey. He attended Randolph Central School and earlier on a one room school house in Red House.

Leonard retired from Jamestown Sterling Corp., where he had worked for over 30 years as a general laborer. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening and working on his small farm on Route 241 in Conewango.

He is survived by three sons; Leonard “Butch” (Cathie) Stacey of Lockport, N.Y., Lester Stacey and wife. Teresa of Frewsburg and Robert “Bob” Stacey of Randolph; a brother, Jack Stacey and wife, Florence of Napoli; three grandchildren: Ryan Stacey and wife, Miranda, Joshua (Destiny) Stacey and Bethany Jackson’ and three great-grandchildren: Matthew Stacey, Carter Jacobson and Kylan Jacobson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Edith Stacey; a brother, Robert Olan Stacey; and a sister, Etta Stacey.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, in the Randolph Cemetery. The Rev. W. Mike Trenchard will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Leonard’s memory to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
