Kathleen D. Anderson

On Sunday, Oct, 6, 2019, at 7:11 p.m., the world lost one of its sweetest citizens, Kathleen D. Anderson.

Born to the late Eleanor Lindstrom Davis and Barney Davis on Feb. 23, 1944, Kathy grew up in Jamestown, with her brother, Kenny, who has also passed on.

She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1962 and went to work at Murphy’s Five and Dime. This was followed by positions at a number of department stores, including County Seat. She loved both the fun social interactions and access to new clothes that these sales positions gave her. In fact, they would only help to fuel one of her greatest pleasures in life, shopping with her best friend, Antionette.

Of course, Kathy’s true passion lay in helping others, so she moved on to work as a paraprofessional for the Jamestown Public School System. She loved all of her students. It did not matter how difficult they could be, she would only chuckle and say they were being “naughty.” She also had nothing but the utmost respect and love for the teachers she assisted.

Kathy is survived by her son, Ronald Anderson and his fiance, Hope Gable; her grandchildren: Alyssa and Ronnie Anderson (Alora Sherbert) and Mia Gable; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Anderson; and her three children: Amy, Jeffrey and Jon Anderson. All of them are as thrilled to have her back as we are saddened to see her go.

Her viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 4-7p.m., at Lind’s Funeral Home and her service will be on Friday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
