Harry Gordon Jr.

Harry Gordon Jr., 86, of 109 Franklin St., Sherman, N.Y., died peacefully at UPMC Hamot with his good friend at his side on Sept. 23,2019.

Harry was born in Erie, Pa., on Aug. 14, 1933, to Alice Daily and Harry Gordon Sr.

Harry was employed at Welch’s for more than 40 years and retired in 1996. Harry was very active with his friends and family. He enjoyed building barns, chicken coupes and houses, and taking care of the various farm animals.

Harry was a member of various clubs, Westfield Moose for over 50 years being an honorary lifetime member, Mayville American Legion, Mayville Veterans of Foreign Wars, Jamestown Vietnam Vets Club, First Ward Falcons, Moniuszko Club of Dunkirk, Corry Veterans of Foreign Wars and Corry Labor Club.

Harry was proceeded in death by his mother and father; sisters: Patricia Gorson Foster and Margaret Gordon Carris; brother, Earnest Gordon Sr.; and good friend, Cheryl Verry Cole.

Harry is survived by many nieces and nephews and good friend for over 40 years, Kevin Cole (Leah Hayes and Brayden Hayes).

Harry donated his body to the study of science and no services will be observed.

There will be a celebration of life at the North East, Pa. Athletic Club, South Pearl Street on Saturday, Oct, 12, from 1-4 p,m,, where friends and family can remember Harry. A meal will be provided.

Donations can be made in memory of Harry to the Stanley Hose Company in Sherman, N.Y.
