Jeanne D. Johanson
Jeanne D. Johanson, 89, formerly of Morton Street Jamestown and Ashville, N.Y., passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, in the Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 28, 1930, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Alvar and Hildur Skoglund Fernberg.
Jeanne was a graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Business College. She had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Ashville and for Slone Melhuish Insurance in Jamestown.
She was a member of the Vikings, and volunteered at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute and WCA Hospital.
Jeanne is survived by her son, Larry Johanson of Dallas, Texas.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas A. Johanson who died Dec. 30, 1983.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Sept.19, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, Lutheran Home chaplain will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the funeral home.
