JoAnne M. Osman

She was born March 13, 1930, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Glen and Lucille Larson Markham.

JoAnne was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to retirement, she was an account clerk for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 20 years, and previously worked at Jamestown Metal Corp., AVM and Bigelow’s.

She was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, Thule Lodge, Henry Mosher Post American Legion Auxiliary, Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers, where she served as treasurer, Lakewood American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. JoAnne enjoyed knitting and reading, and loved her cat, Herman.

Surviving are two sons: Gregory (Cindy) Osman of Lakewood; Jeffrey (Michelle) Osman of Kennedy; five grandchildren: Bethany (Derek) Reed, Nicholas Osman, Ben Osman, Bonnie (Dave) Ring and Stephanie Osman; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ames F. Osman, whom she married March 8, 1952 and who died July 9, 1997; and a daughter, Karen Osman who died Oct. 16, 1953.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday July 18, 2019 in the Lind Funeral Home. Chaplain Peter Dawson will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (two hours prior to the service) Thursday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Pittsburgh for kidney and pancreas research.
