Dorothy Elaine Lundgren

Dorothy Elaine Lundgren, 90, of Heritage Village Retirement Center, Gerry formerly of 1580 Martin Road, Jamestown, died on July 18, 2019 at The Village.

Mrs. Lundgren was born on Nov. 30, 1928, in Coudersport, Pa., the daughter of the late Elmer and Anne James McLaughlin.

She was a 1946 graduate of Roulette High School, and in 1950 graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College. She married the Rev. LeRoy L. Lundgren on June 21, 1950.

Her joy in life was walking with and serving her Lord. She used her love of music teaching elementary school students in the Bradford and Warren School Districts and in giving private piano lessons. She worked alongside her husband in the churches he served in Union Valley, N.Y.; Clarendon, Pa.; Lewis Run, Pa.; Olean, N.Y.; Dewittville-Hartfield, N.Y.; and Laona, N.Y. She often ministered as choir director, organist or accompanist, most recently at Heritage Village and the Gerry Free Methodist Church. She had several interests including photography, reading, camping/traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy (March 4, 2007). Surviving are a son Lawrence (Deborah Mott-Lundgren) Lundgren of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; two granddaughters Lara (Gregory) Schuler of Hamlin, N.Y., and Lorelle (Daniel) Vanno of New Port Richey, Fla.; great-grandchildren Ian Schuler, Gregory Schuler, and Larson Schuler of Hamlin; Daniel Vanno and Genevieve Vanno of New Port Richey; and a sister-in-law, Norma (Brian) Pawley of Wimauma, Fla.

A memorial service will be held in August at the convenience of the family and will be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Camps Conferences and Retreat Ministries of the Upper New York Annual Conference, 7481 Henry Clay Blvd. Liverpool, NY 13088 or to Heritage Ministries, Gerry, NY.
