Doreen C. Swanson

She was born Oct. 2, 1957, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Martin and Shirley Furlow Klawon.

She was a 1975 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Jamestown Community College’s Licensed Practical Nursing Program.

Nursing was her passion and for many years used her skills as an employee of Lutheran.

Her family meant the world to her.

Surviving are her husband, William E. Swanson, whom she married Feb. 20, 1978; three children: William (Kelly) Swanson of Ripley, N.Y., and Christopher Swanson and Corinne (David) Curtis both of Jamestown; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dawn (Jim) Russell of Kennedy; a brother, Robert Klawon of Jamestown; and her fur babies: Ariel and Donte.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Klawon.

Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. No formal service will be observed, however, the Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will offer prayer to close the time of vistiation Tuesday evening.
