Evelyn M. Blood

Evelyn M. Blood, 95 formerly of Trask Road and Tanglewood Manor, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

She was born May 14, 1923, in Ashville, N.Y., the daughter of the late Grove and Susie Sample Bush.

Evelyn worked at Clark Box Factory, Jamestown Plywood, Chautauqua Hardware, Falconer Metal Specialities (retiring in 1987), Betty Dixon Chocolates and House of Petillo.

She was formerly a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Evelyn was an avid vegetable gardener, a canner, cake decorator, baker and seamstress. She was quite a hostess with a huge spread of food for gatherings. Evelyn enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren who made her very proud.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Calvin) Cederquist of Jamestown, N.Y.; her son, David Blood of Jamestown, N.Y.; her brother, Hilton Bush of Jamestown, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Enyart of Fairfax Station, Va.; six grandchildren: Kevin (Danielle) Cederquist of Jamestown, N.Y., Carrie (Joel) Davison of Sugar Grove, Pa., Erica Cederquist of Ashville, N.Y., Erin Blood of Fairfax Station, Va., Ronda Byers of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Ronald Blood of Lakewood, Colo.; six greatgrandchildren: Camryn Cederquist, Jordan Crowell, Lillian and Lincoln Byers, Roman and August Blood. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, August Blood, whom she married on Dec. 6, 1942 and who died in 2002; two sons: Richard Blood and Ronald Blood; four sisters: Margaret Featherstone, Louise Glazer, Elsie Lindsey and Dorothy Lanphere; four brothers: Orsell, Norman, Oliver and Howard Bush; and a grandson, Barry Cederquist.

Friends may call at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home Inc., 316 E. Fifth St., Jamestown, NY, on Sunday, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Pastor Jeffrey Mitchener, pastor of Family Church in Mayville, N.Y., will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
