Doris W. House

She was born June 22, 1918, in Cassadag,a a daughter of the late James and Louise Clark Wilcox

Doris was employed as a teller at the former Liberty Bank in Fredonia for many years.

She was a charter member of the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and member of the Cassadaga Memorial American Legion Post 1280 Auxiliary.

Doris enjoyed growing roses and was a former member of the Cassadaga Country Club Lady “Wiffers” golf league.

Wife of 58 years to the late Donald A. House, whom she married May 15, 1941, and who died June 25, 1999; mother of Jack (Suzanne) of Meridian, Idaho, Donald A. (Donna) of Cassadaga and the late James House (2009); grandmother of Jennifer (Rick) Vahl and great-grandmother of Cortney Vahl, all of Cassadaga. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A private service of committal will be held in Cassadaga Cemetery at a later date.
