Dennis E. Gray

A lifelong area resident, he was born May 24, 1956, in Jamestown, the son of Lionel J. and Wanda J. Brown Gray.

Dennis was a 1974 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended the University of Michigan. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Troyer Farms.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and Jamestown Loyal Order of Moose. Dennis played in several fast pitch and slow pitch softball leagues, and also was an umpire. He enjoyed his family, NASCAR racing, baseball, softball, football, watching Fox News, golfing and bowling. Dennis was an avid Sabers, Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving are his wife, Cindy L. Miller Gray, whom he married July 28, 2001 in Frewsburg; his mother, Wanda J. Gray of Jamestown; six children: Andrea (Gordy) Austin of Kennedy, Cammie (Kevin) White of Jamestown, Brett Gray of Falconer, Maria (Daniel) Mendell of Tampa, Fla., Heather Mendell of Jamestown and Erin (Mike) Pickering of Reno, Nev.; eight grandchildren: Taylor R. and Kaden R. Bianco, Devin M. and Xander G. Austin, Journey A. and Tavares K. White, Moses J. and Enola J. Pickering; and his dog, Little Girl.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lionel J. Gray on Sept. 26, 2008.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The Rev. Marc Samworth will officiate. Burial will be in Levant Cemetery.
