Hon. Linda A. Blackmar 1937 – 2019

She was born June 5, 1937, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Jesse and Eileen Kohler Mc Donald.

Linda was the owner of the Frog Farm with her husband, Richard Blackmar. Her interests were gardening, quilting and spoiling her grandchildren.

Linda was a licensed practical nurse since 1972, an advocate for domestic violence, a state magistrate for over 30 years and was a master gardener. She was a member Cattaraugus County and the New York State Magistrates Associations, several quilting organizations, the Cattaraugus Ambulance, the Cattaraugus Fire Department Fire Commissioners and she was a trustee for the Cattaraugus Free Library.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard R. Blackmar; and her son, Edward “Buddy” Kaye.

Linda is survived by her children: Joseph (Debra) Kaye, Eileen (Scott) Williams and Kristin (Pat) Stevens; grandchildren: Jennifer, Erin, Lindsay, Colin, Hannah, Haley, Morgan, Casey, Dylan and Austin; three great-grandchildren; her siblings: Kathleen (Jerry) Kaminski, Myra (Herb) Schultz, Corky McDonald and Eileen Newton; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 55 S. Main St. Cattaraugus, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m., at the East Leon Wesleyan Church 7996 Mosher Hollow Road, Cattaraugus, N.Y.

Interment will be in Liberty Park Cemetery
