James Philip Pratt

James Philip Pratt, 79, of Corry, Pa., went to heaven on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Corry Manor, Corry, Pa.

Jim was born April 26, 1939, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Philip T. Pratt and Mary Masters Pratt.

Jim graduated from Sherman High School, Sherman, N.Y., in 1958, where he was captain of the Sherman Wildcats six man high school football team. He also played basketball through high school. Three years after graduation, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 1961 until May of 1964. He was stationed in Germany as a sharp shooter. After the service, he worked with his father in Sherman at Pratt Insurance Agency for many years. Jim also worked at Erie County Courthouse in Erie, Pa., as a file clerk in Domestic Relations for many years where he retired.

Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 365, he was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 264 and the Central Labor Club in Corry, Pa. Jim was a member of the Olive Lodge Masons in Sherman, N.Y., for over 50 years, plus a member of the Jamestown Ismailia Shriners and the Jesters for many years. He was a director and royal ambassador of Buffalo Court 22 in 1992 for a year. Jim also belonged to the Camel Herders Stable 44.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheri Jaggi of Corry; sister, Linda Pratt Page of Hamburg, N.Y.; stepson, Chad A. Sorenson of Corry; his father and mother-in-law, Boyd and Lori Jaggi of Corry, Pa.; brothers-in-law: Doug Jaggi and his wife, Grace of DuBois, Pa., and Troy Jaggi and his wife, Tami of Corry, Pa. Jim is also survived by four nephews: Tyler, Tommy, Alex and Zack and two nieces: Tiffany and Tabitha; many cousins and his favorite cousin, Marty Heath of Champlain, N.Y.

There will be no services held at this time.

Olive Lodge of Sherman, N.Y., will conduct services at Sherman Cemetery followed by a military honor guard on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at 2 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
