Theo M. (Moorhead) Caruso

Theo was born October 4, 1934, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Myra (Brown)Moorhead.

A Westfield/Portland area resident most all her life, Theo graduated from Sherman Central School in 1952, and was a charter member of the Yorker Club and Museum in Sherman. She had been employed by Welch Foods for a brief time and had also helped her husband run the family farm on Woleben Road.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, reading, craft painting and almost any kind of craft. However, her main love and joy was taking care of her loving husband, her family, and her beloved cat, Rusty.

Survivors include her son, John (Deborah) Caruso of Erie, Pa.; and two daughters: Suzanne M. Caruso of Portland, and Annette M. Caruso of Dunkirk, N.Y. Theo was the proud grandmother of Nicholas J., Alex J. and Cory J. Caruso, Shawn R. Hilton and Ryan M. Vazquez; and great-grand- mother of Cloe, Delia and Hudson Caruso. She is further survived by her niece, Denise Laughlin.

In addition to her parents, Theo was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Salvatore “Sy” Caruso, whom she married Nov. 5, 1955, in Westfield, and who died Dec. 15 2016; and by her brother, William V. Moorhead.

Friends may call on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, from 10 a.m. to noon at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, N.Y. A brief service will be held at noon. Private burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
