Herman W. Eganski

CATTARAUGUS — Herman W. Eganski, 93, of Fancher Road, Cattaraugus, town of Leon, passed away, Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at the UPMC-Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.

He was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Salamanca, N.Y., the son of the late John and Rose Myers Eganski.

Herman attended Salamanca High School until farm life called him. He owned and operated Eganski Brothers Dairy Farm in the town of Leon for his entire life and when he retired from the farm, he continued to work for the Robert Crowell Dairy in South Dayton into his late 80s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by a son; Kenneth J. Eganski Sr. of Leon; daughter-in-law Brenda Eganski of Cattaraugus: three grandchildren: Ken Eganksi Jr. of Leon, Heather Marie Eganski of Jamestown and Jason Theodore Eganski of Warren, Pa. He also is survived by two nephews: Gary and James; and a niece, Susie.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Koletta Eganski; a grandson, Daniel Scott Eganski on Aug. 19, 2018; three brothers: John, Theodore and Andrew Eganski; sisters: Veronia Ebel, Leona Scholtz and Victoria Eganski.

As per Herman’s wishes there will be no visitation or services observed. Inurnment will be in the Little Valley Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph.
