Dennis S. Card

He was born in Jamestown, N.Y. on Feb. 6, 1940, to the late Earl and Beulah (Starkweather) Card.

Dennis graduated from Chautauqua High School. A carpet layer by trade, he and his wife, Nancy owned and operated the Sherman Carpet Shop for many years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed golf and bowling and was a life member of the Stanley Hose Company.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Morse) Card; two sons: Stephen (Evie) Card of Findley Lake, N.Y., and Chris “Hoss” (Judy) Card of Sherman, N.Y.; surrogate son, Charlie Noble of Sherman, N.Y.; four grandchildren: Stevie, Chad, Cory (Julia) and Jake Card; and a brother, E. Douglas (Delores) Card.

Besides his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Card.

No prior visitation. A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, from 1-3 p.m., at the Sherman Fire Hall.
