Katherine F. Lecceardone

LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — Katherine F. Lecceardone, 74, of Little Valley, passed away July 1, 2018, at Heritage Green Rehab and Nursing Home in Greenhurst, N.Y.

She was born Sept. 15, 1943, in Kenai, Alaska, the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Oskolhoff) Wilson. She was raised in Alaska and was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church until coming to New York in 1962.

She married Bruce Horning who predeceased her in 2003.

Mrs. Lecceardone was a member of the Kenaitze Tribe in Alaska. In Little Valley, Mrs. Lecceardone was a licensed practical nurse and worked for Homecare Hospice for many years. She attended St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Little Valley and was a member of the area’s Red Hat Ladies Club. She was an avid reader and loved her crossword puzzles, as well as her two cats: Daisy and Ditto.

Mrs. Lecceardone is survived by two sons: Douglas (Diane) Lecceardone of Conewango Valley, N.Y., and Henry (Ginger) Lecceardone of Randolph, N.Y. Also surviving are one daughter, Deborah (Alan) Jones of Kingston, Wash., and 12 grandchildren: Alicia, Corry, Andy, Shawn, Gregory, Stephen, Catherine, Alana, Dustin, Derek, Jake and Hannah; as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Bobby of Alaska and two sisters: Julia of Alaska, and Dorothy of Little Valley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her loving husband, she is predeceased by Papa Swede who helped raise her; two sisters: Ester and Doris; and two brothers: Rudy and Paul.

Private family services will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Salamanca Memorial Library.
