Donna J. Sandberg

Donna J. Sandberg, 84, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday (July 10, 2018) in Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled nursing Facility.

A lifelong area resident, she was born Feb. 5, 1934, the daughter of late Edward Clarence and Signe Olson Buck.

Donna was a graduate of Falconer High School and in her early career she worked as a manager of Whirley Wash Dry Cleaning and Laundry while later she retired from WCA Hospital as a finance clerk. Donna enjoyed a life full of traveling, camping, prepared and organized many events for Thule Lodge and Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary.

She was a member of the Thule Lodge 127, Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary, Scandinavian Foundation, Southwestern Firemans Auxilary, Scotty Oliers Camping Club, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Frewsburg Legion Auxilary.

Donna is survived by her husband, Edwin Sandberg of Jamestown, whom she married October of 1967 in Niobe, N.Y.; a son, Frank Hyer (Patty) of Ocala Fla.; three daughters: Darlene Morrison of Cherry Creek, N.Y., Arlene Olmstead (Robert) of Byron, N.Y., and Pamela Morningstar (Dean) of Lander, Pa.; her sister, Patricia Brownell of Lake Mary, Fla.; as well as her stepdaughters: Wendy Heitman (Emory), Karen Zickraft and Dawn Scarsone (Peter) and their families; granchildren: Dustin Morningstar, Tess Morningstar, Melissa Hyer, Michael Hyer, Krista Morrison-Brown (Joel), Steven Morrison, Nathan Olmstead (Allie), Kyle Olmstead, Reed Olmstead, Quentin Olmstead (Jessie) and Aaron Olmstead; great- granchildren: Emerlynn Olmstead, Roselynn Olmstead, Callan Olmstead, Olivia Olmstead, Conner Olmstead, Wyatt Olmstead and Dylan Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her brothers: Rudolph Buck, Homer Buck, Clifford Buck, Richard Buck, Edward Buck Jr., Harold Buck, Sheridan Buck, Donald Buck and Glenn Buck; as well as a sister, Arlene.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan Anderson will officate.

Friends will be received by the family from 10 a.m.- 1p.m. in the funeral home.
