Mary M. Davis

She was born Nov. 28, 1942, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Herman H. and Edna M. (Hoyt) Dutton Sr.

Mary was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a home maker. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing (but not fixing Scotts pants), working outside in her garden and caring for her cats and strays for over 40 years. Mary always said, she could not have asked for nicer neighbors than Tim and Jane Arrance and Bridget and Preston Marshall and their children.

She is survived by seven children; Connie L. Eckholm and husband, Gary of Mill Hhall, Pa., Tammy L. Phanco and husband, Scott of Russell, Pa., Michelle A. Patterson and husband, Roy of Taylors, S.C., Steven Vilardo of Russell, Pa., Anthony Vilardo and wife. Kelly of Enterprise, Ala., Robert Davis IV and his wife. Debra of Bemus Point, N.Y., and Penelope Pratt and husband. Robert of Mifflinburg, Pa., 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert W. Davis III, whom she married on September 30, 1978, and who preceded her on April 11, 2015; and siblings: Herman Dutton Jr., Delores Johnson and Helen Morse.

A gathering of family and friends will be held starting at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Mary’s home at 3 Fifth Ave., Randolph. As per Mary’s wishes, visitation will not be observed.
