Cecil M. Short

Cecil M. Short, 90, of Falconer, passed away Monday (Feb. 12, 2018) in his home.

A lifelong area resident, he was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Falconer, the son of the late James H. and Florence Walker Short.

Cecil was a graduate of Falconer High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy from 1945-47.

In earlier years, he had owned and operated Levant Gulf Station and was employed by Carborundum and Servis Plumbing. Prior to retirement Cecil was employed by MRC-TRW.

Surviving are four children: Laurellee “Lory” (Duane) Anderson of Jamestown, Kelly T. Short and Timothy C. Short, both of Falconer and Judy Pantall of Jamestown; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Short of Falconer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie C. Fraizer Short, whom he married Nov. 25, 1948, in Levant, and who died Nov. 10, 2014; two brothers: James and Malcom Short; three sisters: Virginia Zindler, Pauline Vendur and Rosalind Bird; and a son-in-law, Richard Pantall.

A private memorial service will be held at the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Ray will officiate. Inurnment will be in Levant Cemetery.

Visitation will not be observed.
