Oliver F. (Ollie) Kohler 1998-2018

Oliver J. “Ollie” Kohler, 19, of South Dayton, N.Y., passed on Jan. 18, 2018, after a battle with addiction.

Ollie was born April 8, 1998, in Amherst, N.Y., to David and Kristy (Volk) Kohler.

He graduated from Pine Valley Central High School in 2016. Ollie played several sports with swimming being his passion. He was a multiple time county and sectional champion and had a special bond with his coach, Bruce Johnson. He loved swimming, skiing, traveling and spending much of his time outdoors. Also spending time teaching children to ski and swim.

He is survived by his parents, David and Kristy; his brother, Jacob (Emily Scott); paternal grandparent, Margaret Kohler; maternal grandparents, Donald and Karen Volk; his special Saint Bernard Rotor. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ollie was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert J. Kohler I; and his uncle, Andrew Volk.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home, 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners, South Dayton, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11a.m.

Inurnment will be in Cottage Cemetery in the spring.
