Lucy (Limberg-DeLand) Buck

She was born July 20, 1939. at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, N.Y., to the late Miles and Vera (Hatfield) Limberg.

She graduated from Bemus Point High School and then graduated from the Jamestown School of Practical Nursing in 1960. She had more than 40 years of nursing experience, working at Heritage Village, Brooks Memorial Hospital and the Chautauqua County Home, where she retired from in 2001.

She loved her family, her neighbors and her friends. She had daily calls with her dear friends: Arlene and Vera. She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her children: Raymond (Cathy) DeLand, Rick DeLand and Renee (Robert) Scott, all of Dunkirk, and Ronald (Donna) DeLand of Winston- Salem, N.C. She was the proud grandmother of Michael and Julia DeLand, Shaun (Tiffany) Vierge, Aimee DeLand, Amanda Rupart, Angela Jackson, Sheldon Scott and Amethyst Paige-Marie Scott. She also had eight great-grandchildren: Lilianna, Tara and Robin Vierge, Alyxis Partin-Ridge, Leya and Joey Jackson and Kayla and Kayden Rupart. She is also survived by one brother, Allen (Joyce Versteegh) Limberg of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and her sister-in-law, Vera Buck of Dunkirk.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bertrand Limberg; her husband: Meredith “Dee” DeLand, who died July 20, 1987 and Lester Buck (July 22, 2006); and her children: Meredith Ralph DeLand (1965) and Robin Anne DeLand (Feb 18, 2014).

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Pastor Michael Leamon will officiate. There will be no prior vistiation. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery.
