He was born April 6, 1939, in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of the late Richard Wesley and Mary Koch Kennedy, and was a graduate of Syracuse University. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1961-63.

A landscape architect, Phil was a partner for many years with Habiterra Architects in Jamestown.

In earlier years, he enjoyed many family camping trips and in later years, traveling with his late wife, Pat. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul Kennedy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. John L. Kuhlmann will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
