Betty Lou Dill

Betty Lou Dill, formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., left her earthly home with her family to be at her Heavenly home with the Lord on July 23, 2017.

Betty was born in Falconer, N.Y., on Nov. 26, 1933. She was the daughter of Allen Lockwood and Mary Pearl Callihan.

Betty felt the Lord’s presence at age six. She asked him into her heart, as Lord of her life, at age 12. Betty followed the Lord in baptism by immersion at 19.

Betty was the pastor’s secretary at Hillcrest Baptist Church for many years before moving to Sioux Falls, S.D., to become the secretary for the Dakota Baptist Conference District Executive. In 2006, she moved to Bailey, Colo. to be close to family.

Betty loved baseball and she teased her grandson, Buddy, mercilessly about it. Betty was a writer. She wrote puppet scripts for children’s church, several unpublished novels, narrative and dramatic poetry, and songs.

Betty wants to be remembered as loving and serving the Lord.

Betty is survived by her children: Michele (Tim) Peterson of Bailey, Colo., Jacqueline (Michael) Schulz of Becker, Minn., and Benjamin (Kelly) Dill of Bemus Point, N.Y.; her seven grandchildren: Jeffrey and Buddy Peterson, Shari and Aimee Schulz, Alicia Snow, Jacob and Alex Dill; and two sisters: Pat Cessna and Sally Lacagnina.
