Elaine M. Lindsey

Elaine M. Lindsey, 67, formerly of East Main Street, Columbus, Pa., died Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at the Corry Manor.

She was born March 6, 1949, in Westfield, N.Y., to Charlie Lindstrom of Busti, N.Y., and the late Marrietta Balser Lindstrom.

Elaine was raised and educated in Busti, N.Y., and graduated in 1967 from Southwestern High School in Lakewood, N.Y. She was married to Joe Lindsey on June 22, 1968 in Panama, N.Y.

Following marriage, her main priority became raising and caring for her family. Over the years, Elaine worked at the G.C. Murphy Store and Corry Rubber Corporation.

She was a former member and past president of the Corry Garden Club, and a former member of the Corry Jayettes. Elaine took pride in being a wife, mother and grandmother. In fact, she thought being a grandmom was her greatest joy and accomplishment, saying she lived for her grandkids.

She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery, travel, camping, music and collecting snow babies. Elaine especially loved spending time with her family and friends and she enjoyed life to the fullest.

Elaine was preceded in death by her mother; and son-in-law, Charles Albright.

In addition to her father and husband, Elaine is survived by a daughter, Joelle Lindsey and her fiance, Fred Zelinski of Franklin, Pa.; a son, Eric Lindsey and his wife, Candy of Linesville, Pa.; two sisters: Irene Norstrant and her husband, Dave of Batavia, N.Y., and Sue Waterman and her husband, Doug of Stowe, N.Y.; and two brothers: Gary Lindstrom and his wife, Judi of Busti, N.Y., and Jeff Lindstrom and his wife, Sherri of Salisbury, N.C.

Elaine is also survived by four granddaughters: Sarah, Krystine, Lilyonna and Kailene; two grandsons: Logan and Reece; two great-grandsons: Adyen and Vito; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 5-8 pm., and attend the funeral service there on Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Les Utegg will officiate.

Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Pa.
