¯ A vehicle crashing into a home around 5:30 a.m. Labor Day remains under investigation.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to the report on West Tenny Street in the town of Dunkirk. On arrival deputies located the vehicle that had crashed into the residence with both having sustained heavy damage.

There were two injured parties treated on the scene by EMS personnel. One subject was transported by Alstar to Brooks Memorial Hospital and the other was flown by STAT MedEvac to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for their injuries.

The department was assisted by the City of Dunkirk Police, Town of Dunkirk Fire Department, and Alstar.

¯ STOCKTON — At about 2:45 p.m. Friday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a location in the town of Stockton. While investigating the circumstances of the incident, deputies found that Justin Horton, 36 of Stockton, was violating a court order issued by the Town of Stockton Court. Horton was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and was bought to be arraigned before the CAP program at Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ HANOVER — Two people were injured in a motor vehicle accident on Routes 5 and 20 on Sunday.

At 2:30 p.m., Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and spoke with Katrina Haskins, 17, of Silver Creek, who sustained minor injuries and was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital. The other operator Francine Torres, 55, of Silver Creek, sustained injuries and was flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.

At this time the investigation is ongoing and charges will be filed at a later date.

¯ PORTLAND — An accident with injuries early Friday morning on Route 5 near Van Buren Road remains under investigation, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reported Sunday morning.

At about 3:37 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies located a heavily damaged vehicle in the ditch with two victims. The victims were treated on scene by EMS personnel for their injuries. One victim was transported by Alstar to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo and the other was flown by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Hamot for their injuries.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Town of Portland fire department, Brocton fire department, Chautauqua County EMS, and Alstar.

¯ PORTLAND — At around 2 a.m. Sunday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 20. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 46-year-old Stephen Hout from Walworth. Upon further investigation Hout was found to be driving while intoxicated. Hout was taken into custody and transported to Pomfret substation for processing. Hout was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and speed over 55 zone. Hout was released with tickets to appear in the Town of Portland Court for a later date and time.

¯ BEMUS POINT — At about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on 76 Center St. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Sarah Everett, 51, from Bemus Point.

Upon further investigation Everett was found to be driving while intoxicated. Everett was taken into custody and transported for processing.

Everett was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and improper or unsafe turn without signal. Everett was released with tickets to be in the town of Ellery Court on a later date and time.

¯ At about 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 5 in the Town of Pomfret. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Valery Guerrero, 34, of Brocton. Upon further investigation Guerrero was found to be driving while intoxicated. Guerrero was taken into custody and transported to Pomfret substation for processing.

Guerrero was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and Speed Over 55 Zone. Guerrero was released with tickets to be in the Town of Pomfret Court on a later date and time.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

BEMUS POINT — A village resident has been charged with assault in an incident with a neighbor.

New York State Police in Jamestown announced Sunday evening they charged Anthony Crouch, 39, with first-degree menacing, third-degree assault, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment in connection with the incident that occurred last Wednesday.

Upon arrival at a trailer park, the troopers observed the victim with obvious facial injuries, however he refused medical treatment. An investigation revealed that in an intoxicated state, Crouch accused the victim of stealing his phone, knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the face, causing injury.

Crouch then used his knife to stab the victim’s television and threaten to slit his throat. The victim was able to escape and call 911 from a neighbor’s residence. Crouch was placed under arrest, processed at Jamestown, and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
