LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ William Eppinger, no age listed, of Dunkirk, was charged with petit larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and false personation. Officers responded at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Eppinger reportedly led officers on a foot pursuit after allegedly exiting the store with several unpaid items. Eppinger is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

¯ Itzamarie G. Rose, no age listed, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. Rose reportedly took $68.11 worth of merchandise from Walmart Wednesday. Rose is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Michael L. Wood, 48, of Hilton Head Island, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test, improper signal and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route 394 in the town of Chautauqua. An investigation found that Wood was reportedly intoxicated. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ PANAMA — Justin J. Ecklund, 28, of Frewsburg, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday investigated a 911 hang up call at a Panama residence. An investigation found that Ecklund was the sole adult in charge of caring for two children at the residence while he was allegedly impaired by drugs. He is scheduled to appear in Harmony Town Court later.

¯ RIPLEY — Patrick O. How, 20, of Ripley, was charged with sexual misconduct. The Chautauqua County Criminal Investigation Division had been investigating an incident that occurred earlier in the month of July, and following the investigation, How was charged. He is scheduled to appear in Ripley Town Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Luis A. Ruiz Jr., 34, no address listed, was charged with obstructing a governmental official and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Officers stopped a vehicle at 7:50 p.m. Saturday on Frederick Boulevard. Ruiz reportedly fled on foot after officers gave him multiple commands to stay in the vehicle. Ruiz was taken into custody and issued tickets to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Brian M. Erickson, 38, no address listed, was charged with driving while intoxicated, speed in zone and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Officers stopped a vehicle at 12:10 a.m. Sunday on Southwestern Drive for a traffic violation. An investigation found that Erickson was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Derek L. Haney, 41, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Officers responded at 11:09 a.m. Thursday to McKinley Avenue for a reported domestic dispute. Haney allegedly grabbed a woman by the arms and spit in her face during a dispute. The woman also alleged that Haney threw her to the ground repeatedly when she attempted to leave the residence. Haney was being held pending arraignment.
