CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ ASHVILLE — Alexis M. Yarber, 27, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated – Leandra’s Law, a felony, unlicensed operator, third-degree felony criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child at 9:27 p.m. Sunday after an incident in Ashville. Deputies responded to a South Maple Avenue address for a report of an in-progress altercation and found Yarber at the home. She had allegedly harassed another person in the presence of a child less than 17 years of age and also allegedly damaged property belonging to the person. She also allegedly drove to the Ashville address while intoxicated. She was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment.

¯ BROCTON — Marcus L. Carrizales, 28, of Lake Avenue, Brocton, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity at an East Main Street business in Brocton on June 12. Deputies found Carrizales allegedly had a small amount of narcotics, later found to be fentanyl, according to a police report, and a digital scale. Carrizales was charged July 19 and will be in Portland Town Court. Further charges are pending.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

¯ Mary F. Clements, 65, of Chautauqua Institution was charged with failure to dim high beams, DWI and having a blood-alcohol content of .08% or more at 11:25 p.m. Saturday after she was pulled over on West Lake Road, Lakewood. She will be in Busti Town Court later.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ PERRYSBURG — Rodney Walters, 35, of Randolph was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Thursday after he was pulled over for a traffic violation on Peck Hill Road in Perrysburg. During the traffic stop, Walters was allegedly found in possession of two tin foil wrappers containing fentanyl. Walters’ driver’s license was also allegedly suspended. Walters was placed under arrest, transported to State Police at Collins barracks and processed. Walters will be in Perrysburg Town Court later.

¯ KENNEDY — Jackson Gattis, 20, of Manchester, Vt., was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs Thursday after he was pulled over on Interstate 86 in Kennedy for driving 100 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone. Police report Gattis was charged after failing several field sobriety tests and was then taken to the State Police at Jamestown barracks, where he was evaluated by a State Police drug recognition expert who determined that Gattis was under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant. After a blood sample was secured from Gattis at UPMC Hospital in Jamestown, he was taken back to the State Police at Jamestown for processing. Gattis will be in Kennedy Town Court later.

WESTFIELD POLICE

¯ Donald A. Baker, 61, of 300 E. Third St., Jamestown, was charged witih trepassing at 9:20 a.m. Thursday after police responded to a report of a man trespassing at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 102 E. Main St., Westfield. Police were told Baker was on the property after being told several times to stay off of the property. Officers arrived to the scene to find Baker sitting in his vehicle in the back parking lot. He was charged and told to stay off the property.

ELLICOTT POLICE

¯ Luis A. Ruiz Jr., 34, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and obstructing a governmental official at 7:50 p.m. Saturday after officers tried to pull a vehicle over on Frederick Boulevard. Ruiz Jr. allegedly fled on foot after officers told him several times to stay in the vehicle. Ruiz Jr. was caught and charged. He will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Brian M. Erickson, 38, was charged with DWI, speeding and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he was pulled over at 12:10 a.m. Saturday on Southwestern Drive for a moving violation. Erickson was allegedly intoxicated and had a revoked driver’s license. He will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
