CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF

MAYVILLE — A Saturday morning altercation has led to charges for a village resident. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Ash Street for the report of a disturbance. A subsequent investigation on scene led to the arrest of Carl Ransbury, 22, for criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Ransbury was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

GERRY — Around 10 p.m. Friday, deputies of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Route 380 for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival responding deputies located the vehicle and identified its operator as Julian D. Aponte Sr, 32, of Jamestown. Through investigation it was discovered that Aponte was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. There was also a child passenger in the vehicle during this incident who was under the age of 16 years old. Aponte Sr. was taken into custody and charged with felony DWI (Leandra’s Law), DWI, endangering the welfare of a child, and moving from lane unsafely. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing and later brought to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

HANOVER — Around 9:50 p.m, deputies were called to a motor vehicle accident on Bennett State Road for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The operator was identified as Timothy Rocque,63, of Silver Creek. An investigation found Rocque to be operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Rocque was charged with Aggravated DWI-Blood Alcohol content 0.18% or higher, driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and failure to keep right. Rocque was released with tickets to be in the town of Hanover Court later

POMFRET — Around 9:30 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 60 for observed traffic infractions. After an investigation, it was found that Lisa D. Dale-Erickson, 51, of Stockton was operating her vehicle in an intoxicated state. Dale-Erickson was charged with DWI, DWI per se, inadequate head lamps, and inadequate tail lamps. Dale-Erickson will be in town of Pomfret court later.

HANOVER — Deputies conducted a traffic stop for an observed infraction. The operator of the vehicle stopped was identified as 39-year-old Bradley Parry of Irving. A subsequent investigation led to his arrest for driving while intoxicated. Parry was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Hanover substation where he was processed for the arrest. He was later released with appearance tickets and will answer to the town of Hanover Court at a later date.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

On Saturday, State Police in Jamestown charged Sarah Johnson, 43, with petit larceny and Jessica Wolfgang, 41, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substances by ultimate users original container. Troopers responded to Dollar General in Frewsburg for a shoplifting complaint. The suspects had already departed the store but were located by the troopers soon after. The unpaid merchandise was still on Johnson’s person and she was placed under arrest. While searching Wolfgang’s purse for stolen items, troopers located used tin foil and eight Tramadol pills which were not in their original container and for which Wolfgang did not have a prescription. Wolfgang was also placed under arrest and both suspects were transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Wolfgang was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Carroll Court on a later date. Johnson was issued an appearance ticket and then turned over to the Jamestown Police Department on an outstanding warrant.

CHERRY CREEK — Troopers in Jamestown charged Alexander Stalker, 24, of Cherry Creek, with second-degree reckless endangerment. Troopers responded to Center Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that the victim attempted to pass Stalker when Stalker crossed the center lines and struck the victim’s vehicle, causing her to leave the road. Stalker was placed under arrest, transported to Jamestown and processed. Stalker was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Cherry Creek Court next month.
