City Woman Jailed After Stabbing

A Jamestown woman was waiting to be arraigned after allegedly stabbing another person late Saturday.

Kiara Smith-Villa, 21, was jailed on second-degree assault and aggravated criminal contempt charges. In a news release, the Jamestown Police Department said Smith-Villa allegedly stabbed another person during a domestic dispute, which took place around 11:45 p.m. at a Baker Street residence.

The department also noted that there was an order of protection for Smith-Villa to stay away from the victim.

The incident was the second stabbing reported Saturday by JPD. Around 6:45 p.m., first responders, including Jamestown police, city firefighters and Alstar EMS, were called to South Main Street for a report of a man with a stab wound to the head. The man was taken to UPMC Chautauqua and then transferred to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa.

The man’s condition was not known over the weekend.

Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department said it is believed the stabbing occurred in the 100 block of Barker Street. He noted that the stabbing was the “result of a dispute and not random.”
