A man was taken to UPMC Chautauqua following a reported stabbing incident late Tuesday in the city.

Members of the Jamestown Police Department were alerted to a stab victim around 9:35 p.m. in the 200 block of East Eighth Street. The victim was transported by Alstar EMS with a wound to his abdomen, not immediately believed to be life-threatening.

Officers could be seen searching with flashlights on East Eighth Street, and interviews were still taking place as of press time.

According to Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department, the suspect was believed to be a man in his 20s.
