Former Teacher Sentenced In Child Porn Case

A former teacher with the Clymer Central School District will spend the next four and a half years in prison for possessing child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford sentenced 61-year-old Scott Aikens of Clymer on Wednesday to 54 months in prison and five years of supervised release. Aikens had been previously convicted on a charge of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles M. Kruly, who handled the case, stated that in late June 2018, Homeland Security Investigations in Buffalo received information that a user, identified as “EJD,” was active on a Thai-based child pornography open website. Investigators traced the email address utilized by “EJD” to Aikens, then a teacher in Clymer.

On Sept. 14, 2018, police executed a search warrant at Aikens’ Route 474 residence in Clymer. Aikens admitted viewing child pornography and noted that child pornography would be found on his computer.

Investigators seized the computer and other electronic devices, which were found to contain a total of 683 videos and 22 images of child pornography.

“Some of the child pornography possessed by the defendant depicted prepubescent minors or minors less than 12 years of age, and some of the child pornography possessed by the defendant contained sadistic or masochistic conduct or other depictions of violence,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

Shortly after his arrest, Aikens resigned from the school district.
