CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ FORESTVILLE — Mark A. Jones, 44, of Forestville was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. Deputies responded Sunday at 12:04 p.m. to a report of an altercation on Straight Road. Jones was taken into custody after an investigation found he allegedly causing injury to another person. He was held for Centralized Arraignment.

¯ ELLERY — Kevin D. Hughes, 58, of Bemus Point was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Hughes allegedly passed a forged written instrument which is calculated to be part of an issue of money purported to be issued by a governmental instrumentality, the U.S. Department of the Treasury in the town of Ellery. He is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Ashley L. Fraley, 32, of Sherman was charged with petit larceny. Officers responded Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. to a shoplifting complaint at Wegmans on Fairmount Avenue. Fraley was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Daniel E. O’Neil, 48, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal tampering. Officers responded Sunday at 3:20 p.m. to a report of a disorderly person on East Fourth and Pine streets. A victim stated that O’Neil allegedly damaged his property. An investigation found that O’Neil reportedly caused $400 in property damage and tampered with electrical wiring to the building. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for court.

¯ Robert J. Overton Jr., 49, of Jamestown was charged with improper left turn onto two-way street, failure to notify DMV of address change, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated. Officers stopped a vehicle Friday at 10:34 p.m. on East Sixth Street. Officers learned Overton was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition and while his license was revoked. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail where he refused to submit to a breath test.

¯ Rachel Y. Farnham, 28, of Jamestown was charged with no/inadequate lights, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated. Officers stopped a vehicle Friday at 2:40 a.m. near the intersection of Ahrens Avenue and Hebner Street. Farnham was found to be in an intoxicated condition and was reportedly driving on a revoked license after being stopped an hour earlier and advised not to drive. Farnham was transported to Jamestown City Jail where she reportedly refused a chemical breath test.

¯ Valerie S. Varner, 60, of Bemus Point was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and speed not reasonable and prudent. Officers responded Saturday at 4:40 p.m. to a crash at Save-A-Lot, 194 Fluvanna Ave. An investigation found that Varner was operating her vehicle in an intoxicated condition. She was taken to Jamestown City Jail for processing.

¯ David Harris, 30, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree menacing. Officers responded Monday at 8:56 a.m. to Grandin Street for a reported domestic dispute. Officers were met by a victim who stated that Harris allegedly threatened her with a large glass liquor bottle. Harris was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ BUSTI — Brandon Tate, 22, of Dunkirk was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Troopers stopped a vehicle Saturday for a violation on West Lake Road in Busti. Tate, a passenger in the vehicle, was reportedly found with 7.5 grams of cocaine, an MDMA tablet, four vape cartridges containing THC, 5.1 grams of concentrated cannabis, 6.9 grams of MDA, 4.5 grams of MDMA, a digital scale containing drug residue and several glassine bags. He was processed and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
