CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ MAYVILLE — Charles R. Houser II, 34, of Mayville was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Deputies were called to a suspicious situation Wednesday on the Rails to Trails in Mayville. Deputies located Houser and another person on the trail though there was a valid stay away order between the two. Houser was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
¯ POMFRET — Danielle M. Miller, 32, of Lily Dale was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and no left side view mirror. Deputies stopped a vehicle Thursday at 3:28 a.m. on Glasgow Road in the town of Pomfret for a traffic violation. Miller was allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles and a quantity of methamphetamine. She was released with tickets to appear in Pomfret Town Court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Richard H. Rolfe Jr., 27, of Jamestown was charged with no/improper turn, moving from lane unsafely, failure to keep right, visibility distorted/broken glass, refusal to take breath test, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI. Officers stopped a vehicle Thursday at 1:09 a.m. on Spring Street for driving in an unsafe manner. An investigation found that Rolfe was intoxicated. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail where a check of his blood alcohol content found he was more than twice over the legal limit. Rolfe was held for arraignment.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Jason J. Brown, 43, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree assault and two counts of second-degree harassment. Police responded Tuesday for a report of an unwanted person. An investigation found that a physical domestic incident had occurred. Brown was transported to Chautauqua County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.
¯ Richard J. Hartmann Jr., 57, of Jamestown was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. A school resource officer at Southwestern Central School received information that an image of a handgun was displayed on social media by a juvenile. No threats were made to anyone or about the school. An investigation found that Hartmann was in possession of a pistol though he did not have a permit. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
¯ ALLEGANY — Caprice N. Gayton, 41, of Olean was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana. Gayton was allegedly found in possession of concentrated cannabis and hydrocodone pills for which she did not have a prescription during a traffic stop on Route 417 in Allegany. She was issued appearance tickets to be in Allegany Town Court later.
