CATTARAUGUS COUNTY

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ RANDOLPH — Douglas L. Bailey, 58, of 61 Larkin St., Randolph, was charged with first-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child at 9 a.m. Thursday after an investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept. Criminal Investigation Bureau. Bailey was arraigned in South Valley Town Court and taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $20,000 bail. He will be in Randolph Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Michael S. Wendling, 59, of Jamestown was charged with failure to stop at a steady red signal, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated per se at 6:44 p.m. Thursday. Jamestown police and New York State Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at Winsor and Crescent streets. A driver failed to stop at a red light and caused the accident before fleeing the scene of the accident. The driver and vehicle were located a short distance away and Wendling was charged. Wendling was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.

¯ Amber J. Haight, 30, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and arrested for having a valid bench warrant from Jamestown City Court at 9:50 p.m. Thursday after Jamestown police officers conducted a warrant check at 401 E. Fourth St. Officers allegedly found cocaine when they searched Haight. Haight was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until she could be arraigned.

¯ Dana A. Ulrich, 37, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree obstructing governmental administration at 4:16 a.m. Thursday after officers responded to a reported fight in a parking lot at 7 W. First St. Ulrich allegedly choked and physically restrained a man. Ulrich also allegedly was uncooperative with officers. Ulrich was taken to the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Cesar S. Lopez-Ortiz, 29, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny after Ellicott Police responded to an Ellicott business on Aug. 16 for a reported larceny of money, allegedly by a former employee of the business. A warrant was issued and eventually served. Lopez-Ortiz will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Nathaniel R. Fleming, 37, was charged with second-degree harassment and menacing after a domestic incident on Sept. 1 in Falconer. Fleming allegedly spit in his girlfriend’s face several times and displayed a handgun. He will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY

¯ PORTLAND — William A. Zoltai, 61, of Akron, N.Y., was charged with DWI, DWI per se, speeding, failure to keep right and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle at 1:17 a.m. Aug. 30 on Route 20 in Portland. According to a police report, deputies allegedly saw a vehicle speeding on Route 20 and pulled the vehicle over. Zoltai will be in Pomfret Town Court later.

¯ HANOVER — Gregory S. Tripp, 52, of Hamburg was charged with DWI, DWI per se and failure to use a turn signal at 11:48 p.m. Aug. 31 on Routes 5 and 20 in Hanover. Deputies pulled the vehicle over after the driver allegedly failed to use a turn signal. Tripp will be in Hanover Town Court later.

¯ SILVER CREEK — Ray Silverheels, 32, of Lawtons was charged with aggravated DWI for having a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or higher, DWI, failure to yield the right of way and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 10:04 p.m. Aug. 31 on Parkway Street, Silver Creek. According to a police report, deputies saw a vehicle fail to yield the right of way and nearly hit another vehicle near the intersection of Central Avenue and Park Place in Silver Creek. Silverheels will be in Hanover Town Court later.

¯ Annette E. Porter, 47, of Jamestown was charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI for having a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or greater and speeding at 3:18 a.m. Aug. 31 after deputies allegedly saw her vehicle speeding on North Main Street. Porter had previously been convicted of driving under the influence in another state within the last 10 years. Porter will be in Jamestown City Court later.

¯ Alden W. Wing, 32, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree attempted escape and resisting arrest. Wing, an inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail, allegedly attempted to escape while at UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown on Aug. 31. When deputies attempted to take Wing back in custody he reportedly resisted arrest. A warrant of arrest was issued for Wing from the City of Jamestown Court. The warrant was placed as a detainer on Wing at the Chautauqua County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court later.

¯ FORESTVILLE — Diane B. Miller, 65, of Forestville was charged with second-degree harassment. Deputies allege that Miller subjected another person to physical contact without permission or reason to do so on Friday. She was issued an appearance ticket to be in Hanover Town Court later.
