City Rape Trial Adjourned In County Court; No Date Set

MAYVILLE — The trial for a Conewango man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Jamestown laundromat last summer has been adjourned.

Jury selection was scheduled to begin today in Chautauqua County Court; no reason for the adjournment was made public, and no new court date has been announced.

Dennis L. Park, 34, was indicted by a Chautauqua County grand jury on charges of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree criminal sex act.

Park was jailed after the July 17, 2018, incident in which a woman said he assaulted her at knife-point while inside the laundromat at 111 Marion St. in Jamestown.

The victim later identified Park as the man who assaulted her. At the time, Jamestown police said it appeared the victim was picked at random.

Park is being represented by Chautauqua County Public Defender Ned Barone.
