NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ Rafael Gattorno, 57, of Jamestown was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. A concerned citizen notified police Saturday when Gattorno was observed intoxicated in Sherman then drive onto Interstate 86 heading eastbound. Gattorno was stopped near exit 11 in Jamestown. He reportedly failed several field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Gattorno provided a breath sample of 0.20% and later released to appear in Ellicott Town Court.

¯ KENNEDY — Alicia Tanner, 23, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment. Troopers responded Saturday to a Kennedy residence for a harassment complaint. An investigation found that Tanner allegedly slapped and shoved another person while also threatening his life. Tanner is scheduled to appear in Poland Town Court at later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ WESTFIELD — The Sheriffs Navigation division responded Friday to Lake Erie in Westfield for a report of a small sail boat in distress. Upon arrival deputies observed two subjects on the sail boat which appeared disabled. The Chautauqua County Water Emergency Team, and Westfield Fire Department were dispatched to assist. Members of the Sheriff’s Navigation Division and CCWET were able to make contact with the sail boat and assisted it into Barcelona harbor. The two individuals were evaluated by the Westfield Fire Department and released. An investigation found that the mast on the sail boat had broke, causing the boat to become disabled. Westfield police and the Chautauqua County Emergency Services also assisted in the rescue.

¯ HANOVER — Kierstin R. John, 25, of Irving was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. Deputies received a complaint June 15 of a motor vehicle that had been stolen from a Hanover residence. An investigation found that John took the vehicle without permission. She was issued an appearance ticket to be in Hanover Town Court later.
